Miwok Village Elementary School (MVES) is the district’s forty-third elementary school and the first school opened under the recently approved Educational Specifications.  MVES opened in July of 2022 within Elk Grove Unified School District and is projected to provide service to approximately 1200 students on a year-round calendar.  The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is the fifth-largest school district in California located in southern Sacramento County.  EGUSD covers 320 square miles and includes 67 schools: forty-three elementary schools, nine middle schools, nine high schools, four alternative education schools, one charter school, a special education school, an adult education school, and a virtual academy.

Miwok Village Elementary School opened under the leadership of Dr. Jodi Boyle and we will honor the past and current Indigenous peoples from the area while simultaneously building a foundation of the cultural traditions from all current students and families. MVES will provide learning environments grounded in social and emotional learning while cultivating positive and productive peer collaboration, and rigorous learning opportunities. We recognize that we are the educational foundation for our children and strive to develop their love of learning that they will build upon throughout their years in EGUSD as we ensure that Every Student is Learning, in Every Classroom, in Every Subject, Every Day (E4), keeping with the district’s Graduate Profile.
